In Mapudungun, the Mapuche language, lof names the community as a self-sustaining unit. Here, the LOF guarantees the vital floor: the channels no carrier should have to buy to stay alive. In English it reads two ways: Life-support Obligation Framework and Lineage Obligation Floor.
